Access and Equity for LGBTQ2S+ Businesses in Canada
A joint study with CGLCC, Ryerson, Mitacs and Diversity Institute.

The project aims to uncover barriers to entrepreneurship, work, and economic equality for members of the LGBTQ2S+ community. It aims to fill knowledge gaps on LGBTQ2S+ businesses in Canada and build on the CGLCC’s recent pioneer research, looking at specific structural barriers facing the LGBTQ2S+ business community. This project provides an opportunity to dive more deeply into the ways these challenges and structural barriers manifest for various owners, focusing solely on LGBTQ2S+ businesses and collecting qualitative data and more nuanced perspectives through interviews and focus groups, in order to better understand the potential of specific policy interventions and services that can support the success of these business owners.
We are currently recruiting participants for interviews!
- Do you self-identify as LGBTQ2S+?
- Are you a founder or owner of a business that operates in Canada?
- Are you 18 years of age or older? We are seeking 30 participants to participate.
