Company Description

Located on the family-owned Hammond Golf, this 5th generation property, since 1884, is being transformed into one of the first golf & eco-resorts in the country, and perhaps the world. Off the grid, sustainability and composting are all key words and concepts we are applying to our clubhouse, restaurant, yurts, cabins and microbrewery which became the first to be located on a golf course in Canada. With cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, skating and snowmobiling in the winter season this year-round business offers a multitude of activities. New to the Hammond family, is Hammond Hill, which is a short-term rental eco-resort that features cabins, campsites, yurts, and glamping tents called Jupes on 62 acres of land next to the golf course.

The Green initiative isn’t the only change the Hammond Golf is bringing. Golf tends to be perceived as being in line with the older, wealthier, white population but it doesn’t have to be. The owner Len is one of the very few openly gay golf club owners in the world and he wants his business to reflect that more and more with each passing year. This inclusion is rare, but it can and should be more across the industry.
