Training & Mentoring
The CGLCC is involved in training and mentoring in two ways:
- It creates and delivers its own programs aimed at developing the capacity of LGBT+ business owners and entrepreneurs.
- It endorses and facilitates access to supporting materials and training for businesses of all kinds.
Programs Created by the CGLCC
LGBT+ Youth Entrepreneur Program #OUTForBusinessThe program empowers LGBT+ entrepreneurs between the ages of 18 and 39 by providing them with financial support and tailored guidance to help them establish or grow their own businesses. The one-year program has four components:
- access to funding
- building business skills
“Being an entrepreneur can be a difficult road to navigate. Being a young LGBTQ entrepreneur adds a few more layers to this challenge because of the barriers faced due to sexual orientation, gender identity, and age. Business support and mentoring programs that not only nurture the entrepreneurial spirit of young LGBTQ entrepreneurs, but acknowledge and address these barriers (within the program and outside of it) can go a long way to ensuring not only success, but resilience.”Annemarie Shrouder
