CGLCC Business Leadership Awards

We are proud to present the annual CGLCC Business Leadership Awards. These awards were created to honour individuals and companies that have played a special role in driving economic growth in the LGBT+ community.

In 2019, we will be presenting the following 6 awards.  We encourage you to nominate those individuals or companies that you feel deserve to be recognized.

  • Business Leader of the Year – Sponsored by Accenture
    This award celebrates an individual in business who has made a significant contribution to the LGBT+ community in Canada. The contribution may be through business or volunteer activities with a corporation, educational institution, association, or non-profit agency.

  • Young Entrepreneur of the Year – Sponsored by RBC
    This award recognizes outstanding achievement by an LGBT+ young entrepreneur. The award is given to an individual that best exemplifies the qualities of effective leadership and innovative thinking, demonstrates potential for growth, shows a high level of social, cultural, and environmental awareness, and has demonstrated commitment to both the LGBT+ community and the broader community.

  • LGBT+ Business of the Year (Small)
    This award celebrates a business that is owned, operated, and controlled by an LGBT+ individual(s) that has made a significant contribution to the LGBT+ community in Canada (annual revenues below $5 million).
    Previous Recipients:  2017 – FreshCo. (Mandy Rennehan); 2018 – Growing Greener Innovations (Connie Stacey)
  • LGBT+ Business of the Year (Large)
    This award celebrates a business that is owned, operated, and controlled by an LGBT+ individual(s) that has made a significant contribution to the LGBT+ community in Canada (annual revenues above $5 million).
  • National Corporation of the Year – Sponsored by TD Bank
    This award acknowledges a Corporation that is a recognized leader in Canada (operating in at least 3 provinces or territories) that enhances LGBT+ Business and supports the LGBT+ community through commitment, activities and visibility. Winners of this award exemplify excellence and are anchors of the Canadian business ecosystem.

  • Legacy Award – Sponsored by Scotiabank
    This award acknowledges a Corporation that is a recognized leader in Canada (operating in at least 3 provinces or territories) that enhances LGBT+ Business and supports the LGBT+ community through commitment, activities and visibility. Winners of this award exemplify excellence and are anchors of the Canadian business ecosystem.
