The award is given to a company of 1,000 or more employees operating in at least three provinces or territories that has shown commitment to the LGBT community. It has done this by providing programs and/or services specific to the LGBT+ community (including its own employees) and by helping LGBT+ businesses to grow and prosper.
"It is an honour to receive this recognition from an organization that understands our diversity is a strength and competitive advantage," said Bharat Masrani, Group President and Chief Executive Officer, TD Bank Group. "At TD, we are also grateful for our longstanding relationship with the LGBT community, through our many community partners, customers and colleagues; all of whom enrich our lives and make us the better bank."
"We want to recognize TD Bank Group for showing that a commitment to diversity is not only the right thing, it also makes good business sense," said Darrell Schuurman, CEO & Co-Founder, CGLCC.
The award was presented at the CGLCC's Black & White Gala in Toronto on November 2, 2017.
