The Business Leader of the Year Award recognizes an individual that has shown leadership in business, and who has made a significant contribution to the LGBT+ community in Canada. The contribution may be through business or volunteer activities with a corporation, educational institution, association, or non-profit agency.
“Paul’s commitment to his family made him a leader in reshaping how corporate Canada looks at parental leave, and his passion for equality in business has driven him to support students of business through his involvement in Start Proud (formally – Out on Bay Street)," said R. Bruce McDonald, co-founder and chair of the CGLCC.
“I am honoured to have been recognized. In times like these, we are reminded how lucky we are to be Canadian,” said Paul Skippen.
The award was presented to Paul Skippen at the CGLCC’s Black & White Gala in Toronto on Nov. 9. It is one of several Business Leadership Awards presented by the CGLCC this year.
