The Program of the conference successfully provided participants with:
- a greater awareness of the importance of the fast-emerging international LGBT business network in the Americas, and beyond,
- its potential for national and international business partnerships, and
- the practical knowledge and tools to successfully benefit from this expanded supplier diversity market.
CGLCC was also very pleased to have as keynote speaker Mr. Randy Boissonnault, Canada’s Special Advisor to the Prime Minister on LGBTQ2 Issues, who gave a very inspirational speech. Other Summit presentations are also available on the CGLCC website.
Finally, the CGLCC-hosted meeting also innovated by including an "LGBT Youth Entrepreneur" component, designed to mentor and support the next generation of entrepreneurs, business leaders and innovators from the LGBTQ community.
Held at the InterContinental Toronto Yorkville, the event brought together some 250 delegates - the largest number of participants to ever attend such a meeting since inception in 2012*. Participants came from Canada but also from abroad, including the United States, Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Mexico and Sweden. Attendants included business leaders from the LGBT community, representatives from Canadian and international corporations as well as delegates from the Government of Canada, the Government of Ontario, the Government of Argentina and the Organization of America States (OAS), based in Washington, DC.
In addition, the conference generated several media stories, both in English and French, as well as an estimated 4.7 million traditional media impressions and 51,000+ social media impressions.
CGLCC wishes to take this opportunity to express its heartfelt gratitude to all of the partners for their generous support and collaboration in ensuring the success of this great event.
