Keys to Success

The keys to success for the CGLCC are:

  • Attracting and maintaining members and corporate partners;
  • Identifying pools of potential members including but not limited to GLBT owned businesses, GLBT friendly businesses, professionals, students, corporations and vendors, then attracting them to the CGLCC;
  • Providing high quality programs and services to enhance the business opportunities of the membership;
  • Strengthening and then emphasizing the role of the CGLCC in educating the corporate and political decision makers in a manner that positively impacts the economic opportunities and outcomes of the general membership;
  • “Branding” CGLCC as THE authority on matters of economic importance to the GLBT business community, including certification as a GLBT owned business for the purpose of procurement contract opportunities; cooperation among local, provincial and regional GLBT chambers and business groups; collection and dissemination of news and information central to the success of GLBT businesses and professionals; partnering with the financial services sector to enhance opportunities for members to start or grow their business; and working with corporate partners, other organizations and the community at large to ensure increased opportunity and equality for GLBT professionals;
  • Maintaining a high visibility in the development of standards, policies, and procedures in matters relating to the buying and selling of goods and services between CGLCC members and corporate partners;
  • CGLCC support and advocacy in areas affecting the GLBT business and professional community, including but not limited to corporate policies and procedures and federal, provincial and municipal government laws and regulations;
  • Cooperating with provincial and local chambers and business groups and other national and international GLBT advocacy groups on common interests and endeavors.
